Breathing New Life into a Storied Space
Our client approached us with a clear challenge: refresh the brand identity of a historic multifamily property to attract higher-quality renters and elevate the building’s reputation in a competitive rental market. While the architecture held charm and character, the brand lacked a distinct voice and visual presence that could resonate with today’s renters. The opportunity was to create a new brand that honored the past while speaking to modern expectations.
Understanding the Market &
the Mindset
We kicked off the project with a deep dive into the local rental landscape—evaluating the competitive set, target demographics, and renter behavior trends. We also conducted on-site observations and stakeholder interviews to understand the property's unique strengths, pain points, and community perception. These insights helped us define a brand strategy rooted in authentic character, livability, and quiet sophistication.

Crafting Messaging that Resonates
We built a messaging framework that articulated the property's unique value and tone of voice. The brand voice balanced warmth with sophistication, helping reposition the building as a desirable, community-oriented place to call home. Key messaging was crafted for digital channels, leasing collateral, and on-site signage—designed to appeal to discerning renters looking for both charm and quality.
Exploring the Naming Landscape
Next, we led a naming process aimed at capturing the essence of the property: its history, architectural charm, and renewed sense of purpose. Many competing properties leaned into overly generic or trendy naming conventions. We saw an opportunity to carve out space with a name that felt elevated, timeless, and grounded in place. Each name was vetted for tone, domain availability, and preliminary trademark clearance to ensure it would support both launch and long-term brand equity.

Introducing the New Name: Mission Grand – Lofts at Lowry
The selected name, Mission Grand, honors the property’s historic roots while positioning it for a new era. It pays tribute to its former identity as Grand Lowry and highlights the building’s Mission-style architecture, known for arched details and timeless craftsmanship. “Grand” reflects both its storied past and elevated transformation, while “Lofts at Lowry” speaks to the industrial-chic interiors and vibrant neighborhood setting. The result is a name that seamlessly blends heritage with modern living—a perfect fit for a property reimagined.
